After attending the 3-Day Intensive mPEAK public program, the process to become a fully certified mPEAK coach is completed in three phases: Phase 1 — 3-Day Coach Training Intensive, Phase 2 — 10-Week Practicum, and Phase 3 — Mentorship & Certification. Each phase involves more extensive prerequisites, a deeper understanding of the mPEAK methodology, more advanced teaching competency, and a greater commitment to personal practice.
ENROLL IN THE INSTITUTE Must have attended a 3-Day Intensive mPEAK public program to be eligible.
Phase 1: Coach in Training
Completed upon: Attending the 3-Day mPEAK Coach Training Intensive
Participants receive a certificate of attendance and are recognized as mPEAK Coaches-in-Training. At this phase, Coaches-in-Training may:
- Share mindfulness meditation practices with friends, teammates, students, and clients
- Coach others to integrate basic mindfulness skills into areas of performance
- Offer a short (90-minute) presentation on Mindfulness and Performance

Phase 2: Trained mPEAK Coach

- Complete 9 weekly mentorship sessions while leading your own 8-week mPEAK course
- Sessions focus on preparing for, processing, and reviewing challenges in each class
- Cost: $2,250 (US rate of $250 per session)
Option B — Co-lead a 3-Day Intensive with your mPEAK Mentor
- An agreed number of mentorship sessions completed before and after the co-led intensive

Additional Prerequisites for Mentorship & Certification:
Extensive formal training or certification in a Mindfulness-Based Intervention such as MBSR, Mindful Self-Compassion, UCLA MARC Trained Mindfulness Facilitator, or equivalent experience as determined by the course facilitators.
Mentorship & Evaluation:
Mentorship supports preparation for mPEAK sessions and processing of specific challenges. During the 9-week mentorship, the Coach-in-Training provides two 20-minute video recordings from the following mPEAK Core Competencies for review and discussion:
- mPEAK Exercises: Straw Breathing, Ice Bucket Challenge, 3-D Image "Letting Go," Paperclip Competition
- Didactic: Intro to Mindfulness, Neuroscience of Performance, mPEAK Foundational Attitudes, Context around 4 Pillars of mPEAK
