The CE Credit Co-Sponsorship Program is available to all Certified MBSR teachers who wish to offer CE credit when teaching an 8-week MBSR Course.

Pre-Course Application Form & Required Materials

Upon enrolling, please submit the CE Co-Sponsorship Pre-Course Application Form at least 7 days prior to the start of the course. The following documents are required to complete the form.

Promotional Materials with Official CE Statement

Promotional materials (web pages, flyers, email announcements) should include:

  • MBSR course description and objectives
  • Dates and location of the course
  • Course fees
  • Teacher(s)' bio(s)

Required Course Objectives

The following objectives must be included in your promotional materials:

  1. Identify the key aspects of mindfulness as it relates to stress reduction, coping with pain and illness, and enhancing well-being.
  2. Articulate the difference between MBSR and relaxation or other distraction techniques that may seem similar but are fundamentally different in contending with difficulty and enhancing quality of life.
  3. Apply mindfulness techniques in both personal and professional settings as a means of contending more effectively with the demands of both settings.
  4. Apply mindfulness into social interaction with patients, colleagues, supervisors, family and friends to facilitate more effective and mindful communication.
  5. Describe the potential benefits of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction to educate patients and their families about the benefits of such programs in their own lives.
  6. Utilize brief mindfulness practices with patients and family members as a means of contending with acute pain, anxiety, and distress.

Post-Course Application Form & Required Materials

Upon completion of your course, submit the CE Co-Sponsorship Post-Course Application Form within 2 weeks after course completion.

⚠ After submitting the Post-Course Application Form and required materials, please email mindfulness@health.ucsd.edu. CE fees will be charged to the credit card on file.
